If the Govt of Singapore still consider people as the gretaest asset of Singapore; it must stop treating the people with just "token" help.

Because the country is run like a corporate, it aimed to work by a profit maximisation model. Spend the least on them but try to get the most out of them. This is bad even if the Govt is prepared to spend on good infrastructures alone.

I think we have reached a stage where physical "infrastructures" are sufficient, the relative spending to improve the life of the people is more important even if there are no "financial returns" but I think the Govt would never do so; especially considering recent investment losses vs their greed to perpetuate the system and also gained from it through obscene salaries...if not company like SMRT would never be privatised.
The same with the providers of Utilities.

This is truly unbecoming of any chief in any organization. Ms Saw must be thinking she was snubbing at her precocious kids. Hi there, we are your precious customers, please do not sniff at us just because You know we are at your mercy.

If they do not want to come up with a better solution for now, the least they can do is station staffs around during peak hours & refrain people from getting on the train when it gets rather crowded rather than wait for it to get really packed.
