Crowded MRT stations

Read this article.

My view
Prompt action has to be taken to improve the public transport system. The old approach will not work. I wrote a paper 3 years ago about some steps that can be taken. They are still relevant today. In fact, the critical situation make it necessary for urgent actions to be taken now.

Looks like SMRT may not do anything unless something serious happens at an MRT station.

This overcrowding problem has existed for years in many stations like, bedok, ang mo kio, jurong, and stations along orchard road.

For first timer, they wouldn't dare to enter those staions by looking at the crowd streaming out.

Off peak crowd is more tolerable but you still can not get a seat on the train.

Even if 20 people dies or gets trampled, at most only some cosmetic changes.

Real change in attitude, philosophy and actions will only occur if PAP loses at least 1 GRC in the upcoming elections.

I faced this issue every time i go to work. Now I tell my manager that I will work from home on certain days to avoid this overcrowding.
