Concept about aging

C H Yak met an old man on his visit to Nanjing. He posted this message:

A Response to "Making Life Easier for The Elderly". MM Lee at the old age of 87, said this during a recent constituency event; "If I'm fit, I'm prepared to stand. But whether I stand or not, that's up to the Prime Minister". Asked if he was feeling up to it, Mr Lee chuckled and would only say: 'It's for you to judge.' [ Source : Straits Times, 14 Nov 2010 ] SM Goh announced that the Government is carrying out a 5-year study in Marine Parade to assess the implications and needs of an ageing community. Yes, at age past 80, we do not want to worry about our children, their careers, and their family problems if any. Why should we continue to carry burden on our shoulders till we drop dead.
MM Lee should let go, else happiness will elude him, as long as he is alive.
Zi Da Zi Shi Jie, grown children have their own world to live, they
dislike being hand-held. Both his own children and Singaporeans are the same. Like Li yeye of Nanjing said, let nature takes its course.
Don't force nature's hand.
Taking up meditation, which is a form of silent prayer, our MM is taking the first step towards happiness. It is a sign of acknowledgement there is really a spiritual being in our subconscious mind.
Old age is not all about working longer to save depleting the country's coffers in financing welfare services, if it is a necessity, by all means work if healthy, for the rest there should be an option to start smelling the roses if financial circumstances are okay.
Surely we don't want to regret at our death-bed, before drawing our last breath, " Ah, I should follow Li yeye's way." Too late already.
