Instant Photos

I need 2 color photos for a visa application. I went to the instant photo booth at SMU. The charge was $8. It seemed to be rather high. I wonder how the students could afford it. It seemed to be more costly that I had expected.

Actually now adays people can take their own photo with their digital camera and then use photo editor to crop to the required size, and print out. don't need to go to photo studio any more. Unless you don't have a printer. Sometimes we can scan our photo and save and print out as and when required.

For my passport renewal, I use my handphone camera (3.2MP autofocus) to take photo, then submit renewal online. Free and easy.

If u go to woodland ssdc the booth they charged $7 but like the chap said if for passport my whole family takes our own photo then submit online so far no issue as when they received the photo, they edit further to zoom to their liking.

As for film shop it is even worst, last time they charge for 4 minimum now they produce minimum 6 so u pay more for 6 or 8 though u need normally only one or two.

Mr Tan. it is truly high, in fact. Given the students' oblivious appreciation of the real world situation and the financial markets now and beyond. Anyway, there's an automated photo-taking booth at Plaza Singapura (just 2 streets away besides Dhoby Ghaut MRT) and it costs me 7.00 SGD for 8 pcs of passport-sized photos.
