US Presidential Election and Singapore

Lucky Tan points out the similarities of the policies pursued by the Republicans in USA and the PAP in Singapore. I agree with this observation and dislike the policies of both parties.

As ordinary citizens here in Singapore in a one Party System, we dun have the privilege to dislike any Policy, even if brought up in Parliament for so called debate, it is glossed over, backed up by PAP ambiguous statistics compiled by their own, then wrapped up abruptly, endorsed unopposed by the PAP group think, and shoved down our throats like geese being fattened for foie gras.
Many things we dislike on the list-
1. We dislike the the least spending on social services, esp the high medical costs citizens made to bear.
2. We dislike the indiscrimate increase in half competent grade type of FTs into our tiny country, based on FTA obligations.
3. We dislike the casinos on our shore, giving us so much social problems.
4. We dislike the emphasis on chasing after GDP growth, giving the Ministers and heads of the Civil Service the perfect excuse to jack up their pay.
5. We dislike the top leaders to have complete control over the Nation's Wallet, passing the control baton from father to son and wife, with no Independent Central Authority as a checking mechanism on the use of the people's money, and the losses on overseas losses in investments nonchalantly unaccounted for.
6.We dislike the selling off our Nation's essential assets like Power Stations, Brand Icons like Tiger beer and F & N, etc.
The list of dislikes never ends, so better end here.
As to American Presidency Elections, frankly we dislike the Republican belief in rogue Capitalism favoured by the rich, of which our PAP Govt is so enamored with.

I dislike the GRC system which enables the PAP government holding too much power. Very often, they abuse it to their own advantages and convenience.
The recent 'National Conversation' is a perfect example of which is resulted from our ineffective parliamentary system. Many view such 'Conversation' as an exercise for PAP/LHL to gather views and collect ideas for preparing the 'Manifesto' and use them for the next GE 2015/2016.
